SELECTION CRITERIA
Each producer can submit up to 3 projects. We welcome not only documentary films but also diverse audiovisual formats such as fiction with documentary aspects, hybrid, experimental, short films, docu and web series, cinema expanded projects, games with documentary aspects and VR / AR / Live documentaries.

In our selection process, we focus on the artistic vision of the project, its originality and author-driven character, visual style and fresh spirit, international potential in terms of financing and development of collaboration, openness for sharing the project with other partners, as well as diverse modes of distribution.

ELIGIBLE COUNTRIES
Cambodia, China, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Philippines, South Korea, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Ji.hlava New Visions Forum: East & Southeast Asia

Open call for documentary projects in development, production and post-production.

One of the leading European documentary film festivals, the Czech Republic’s Ji.hlava International Documentary Film Festival, opens applications to the JI.HLAVA NEW VISIONS FORUM: EAST & SOUTH-EAST ASIA addressing documentary filmmakers based in East & South-East Asia.

Ji.hlava New Visions Forum is a financing, co-production and networking event dedicated to supporting documentary production in its diversity and creativity.

The filmmakers can submit their feature and mid-length documentary films in development, production or postproduction.

The presentation of selected projects will take place on October 29–31 during the 28th Ji.hlava IDFF, and will be made accessible to over 1,200 industry professionals and decision makers attending the event. The projects are presented by the director-producer pair along with a preview of the upcoming film.

Authors of the selected projects will receive industry accreditations with access to all festival’s film screenings as well as the industry programme and will be included in the festival’s networking platform – Ji.hlava Matchmaking Accelerator.
